The Hart volleyball team traveled to Big Rapids to compete in the Cougar Invitational hosted by Crossroads Charter Academy on Saturday, and went 2-1-1 on the day.

The Pirates started with a split against McBain Northern Michigan Christian (18-25, 25-21), but then went on to take two matches in a row against Evart (25-19, 25-22) and Crossroads Charter Academy (25-16, 25-10).

The Pirates finished on top in in pool play but were unable to overcome some hurdles and fell to NMC in the championship game with set scores of 25-19 and 25-18.

It was an all around team effort for the Pirates with Kloe Klotz making 21 digs, ten kills and scoring ten aces, Mya Chickering had 20 kills, seven aces, four blocks and two digs and Finley Kistler offered up 41 assists, seven digs, six aces and two kills.

Also contributing on the court was Addi Hovey with 15 kills, three aces, two digs and two blocks, Audrey Aerts had 11 digs, five kills, five aces and a block, Morland Gamble posted 14 digs and three aces and Makayla Rockwell made 19 digs and scored two aces.

The Pirates are now 11-15-4 on the season and remain winless in the WMC at 0-6.
