The North Muskegon volleyball team played strong at the Shelby Invitational on Saturday, going 4-1 and making it all the way to the Gold division final.

In pool play, the Norse took down Hart (25-15, 25-13), Ludington (26-24, 25-18) and Pentwater (25-18, 25-7).

Squaring off with Holton in the Gold bracket semi-final, the Norse topped the Red Devils (25-22, 25-14).

The Norse came up short against Shelby in the final match, falling 25-23 and 25-22.

Natalie Pannucci led for the Norse with 41 kills, 18 digs, six aces and four blocks.

Josee Cooke posted 22 kills and scored seven aces while Joslynne Bogner made 21 kills, eight aces and five blocks.

Also contributing for the Norse was Megan Houseman with 22 digs and seven aces, Sami Baker made 54 assists and 19 digs and Jaley Schultz offered up 23 digs.

North Muskegon moves to 20-12-2 and will visit Mason County Central on Tuesday for WMC play.
