Spring Lake volleyball posted a runner-up finish at the Mona Shores Invitational on Saturday where it fell to Reeths-Puffer in the finals of the Silver bracket (11-25, 18-25).

The Lakers went 0-2 in pool play with losses to Zeeland East (25-15, 25-27, 15-9) and Grand Haven (25-18, 25-18).

Managing to not leave completely defeated, the Lakers overtook Kalamazoo Christian in two games with scores of 25-10 and 25-23.

Kalli Lewkowski led the way for the Lakers making 17 digs, 16 kills, three blocks and posting three aces while Kendra Kieft made 50 digs and three aces and Meah Bajt had 37 digs and tallied three aces.

Brooke Bolthouse made 10 kills and four blocks and Kyla Kobylak and Sydney Ogden made 28 and 16 assists, respectively.

Spring Lake drops to 9-19-1 and will travel to Hudsonville Unity Christian to move into the O-K Blue Conference tournament on Tuesday.
