Spring Lake’s girls cross country team ran to a first-place finish in the second OK Blue Jamboree of the season Wednesday, easily getting past second-place Allendale, 39-62.

Coopersville served as the host for the event.

Grand Rapids West Catholic was third with 84 points, Holland Christian scored 105 for fourth, Hudsonville Unity Christian took fifth place with 121, Fruitport had 145 for sixth, Hamilton finished seventh with 182 and Coopersville was eighth with 197.

The Lakers took the top two places, with Lily Parker took first place in 20:08.32, while Lexie Ruffing finished second with a time of 20:25.47. Bea Reeser was the next Laker to place, finishing seventh in 21:21.63. Valerie Pollock was the only other local runner in the top 10, finishing ninth in 21:41.19.

Spring Lake finished second behind Holland Christian in the boys race, 52-58.

Hudsonville Unity Christian came in third with 71 points, Fruitport tallied 99 points for fourth, Hamilton was fifth with 108, Allendale finished sixth with 124, Coopersville came in seventh with 217 and Grand Rapids West Catholic was eighth with 230.

Leading the Lakers was Ian Hill, who ran a 16:17.31 for first place overall. Sam Davidson was ninth with a time of 18:02.12, while Carter Phillips finished 11th in 18:14.77. Fruitport’s best finisher was Ethan Horan, who clocked a 18:32.20 for 15th place.
