Ludington’s girls cross country team sped to a 41-57 victory over Manton at the Chris Grabowski Memorial Invitational at Manistee on Thursday.
Reed City finished third, Leroy Pine River was fourth, followed by Frankfort, Manistee, Grand Traverse Academy, Lake City, Grand Rapids Union, Mason County Central and White Cloud 11th.
First in for the Orioles was freshman Summer Brower in 20:51.21. Fellow freshman Nadia Grierson was fifth in 21:53.53, sophomore Mackenzie Keillor was seventh in 22:27.22 and sophomore Anna Burton was ninth in 22:41.93
On the boys’ side Ludington finished fourth with 98 points. Manton won the meet with 73, followed by Reed City second and Manistee third.
White Cloud trailed the Orioles in fifth place, followed by Frankfort, Leroy Pine River, Mason County Central, Grand Traverse Academy, Grand Rapids Union and Hesperia 11th.
Ludington’s first boy to finish was sophomore Trey Keson, who finished fifth place in 18:28.31.
Other local runners in the top 10 included White Cloud junior Nathan Ciolk third in 18:21.89 and his teammate, senior Kobe Canning was 10th in 18:46.76.
