The Fremont boys cross country team ended its season with an appearance in the Divison 2 state final, and a 11th place finish Saturday afternoon at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. Spring Lake was 24th.

It was Otsego winning the state title, with Chelsea second and St. Johns third.
Fremont scored 343 points, and the Lakers had 597.
Senior Conner Somers paced the Packers with a second place finish in 15:28.85.
Fellow senior Gavin Schuler was 64th in 16:58.64, sophomore John Christensen was 79th in 17:17.31, sophomore Sean Pettis was 87th in 17:25.22, junior Henrik Quist was 111th in 17:37.69, freshman Cole Lowery was 114th in 17:60.65 and freshman Carter Sherman was 147th in 18:05.79.
First runner in for the Lakers was senior Sam Davidson who was 91st in 17:29.36. He was followed by senior Carter Phillips 113th in 17:39.87.
Other finishers for the Lakes were junior Tanner Guczwa 123rd in 17:47.49, sophomore Lucas Ruffing 124th in 17:47.56, junior Ethan Grevengoed 146th in 18:05.29 and freshman Parker Woodwyk 165th iin 18:25.55.
In the individual portion of the race Whitehall junior Carter McIlroy was 67th in 16:47.92 while Vikings’ senior Riley Buys was 86th in 16:58.00. Also for Whitehall junior Andre Richmond was 111th in 17:13.27.
Fruitport sophomore also ran as an individual and finished 163rd in 17:39.21. Oakridge senior Maxwell Remondino was 192nd in 17:57.16 and freshman Peyton Ruel was 261st in 19:42.73.
