The Grand Haven volleyball team captured a tough battle against Mona Shores on Thursday in the Division 1 district finals.
The Buc won in four games with set scores of 33-35, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-21.
Leading for the Mona Shores was Grace Norris with 14 assists, 14 digs, seven kills and an ace, Ali Trautner got 11 digs, six kills, posted five aces and made a block and Kyann Hellmann got 11 assists, eight digs, two kills, and a pair of aces.
Holli Brus added 10 digs and six kills and Ava Dunn made six kills and a block.
“What a GREAT group of young Ladies,” said coach Kathy Hellmann about her Mona Shores team after the loss the finished their season. “They always played hard and with heart.”
Mona Shores ends the season with a 16-20-1 record. Grand Haven will play host to Rockford for the first round of regionals on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
