As teams get deeper in the playoffs, the matches tend to get closer and harder. For Division 3 district finalist Kent City, that rang true.
The Eagles were knocked out of the playoffs with a hard 3-2 loss to Morley Stanwood on Thursday.
The Eagles fought in every set even, with the match all tied up going into the fifth set. But Kent City fell just shy of a regional tournament berth with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 11-25, 25-18 and 16-14.
Jacee Hoffman scored two aces for the Eagles while Lexie Bowers got 25 digs, seven kills and an ace and Kaila Kreuger offered up 36 assists, 20 digs and posted an ace.
Emmalyn Geers had 15 kills and made four blocks, Madelyn Geers got 14 kills and three blocks, Taryn Preston made 20 digs and two blocks and Kaden Perkins had 24 digs.
Kent City ends the season with a record of 33-6-1.
