Spring Lake girls cross country was sixth at the Division 2 state championship meet Saturday afternoon at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

The Lakers finished behind state champion East Grand Rapids, runnerup Grand Rapids Christian and third place Petoskey with 231 points.

Junior Lily Parker was the first Laker to cross the finish line, coming in 17th with a time of 19:12.98.
Sophomore Bea Reeser was 23rd in 19:24.15, freshman Lexie Ruffing was 30th in 19:39.33, freshman Brooklyn Verplank was 79th in 20:39.29, sophomore Katie Riemersma was 82nd in 20:43.77, senior Makaela Schmidt was 121st in 21:19.99 and senior Jennifer Ridge was 127th in 21:27.05.

Competing in the individual race were Newaygo sophomore Remington Arney who was 41st in 19:38.81, Ludington freshman Summer Brower who was 42nd in 19:38.89, Ludington freshman Autumn Brower who was 104th in 20:27.08, and Fremont senior Taava Johnson who was 108th in 20:29.74,
