The Montague girl’s basketball team used a strong fourth quarter performance to grab at 52-35 win over the visiting Oakridge Eagles on Friday.

The Wildcats outscored the Eagles 22-12 in the fourth quarter to seal the victory which was also a West Michigan Conference opener for both teams.

Kendall Osborne led for the Wildcats posting 19 points, nine assists and seven rebounds while Haylee Schwartz scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Claire Meacham recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Fighting hard for the Eagles was Anna Lundquist who had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and also made four steals while Destyni Lane recorded  six points, two steals and two rebounds.

Montague climbs to 2-0, 1-0 and will next host the Spring Lake Lakers on Tuesday.

Oakridge drops to 0-2, 0-1  and will take the court again on Tuesday at Fruitport.
