The Muskegon Community College women’s basketball team came up on the short end of a 77-54 score on Saturday against Lakeland Community College.

It was the Lady Jayhawks first loss of the season.

MCC got off to a slow start and fell behind 42-21 at the half against the talented and physical Lakeland team.

The Jayhawks played a solid second half, but could not cut into the deficit created in the opening half.

Mariah Pringle led MCC with 16 points and 10 rebounds while Suzan Sisman added 14 points.

MCC drops to 3-1 on the season and will host Henry Ford College on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
