Mona Shores wrestling tops Godwin Heights, falls to Reeths-Puffer

The Mona Shores wrestling team opened up its season at home going 1-1 against Reeths-Puffer and Godwin Heights on Wednesday.

The Sailors started the series falling to Reeths-Puffer with a score of 44-21.

Winning weight classes for the Sailors was Gavyn Stout at 145, Eric Davidson at 152 pounds and Jake Moll at 160 pounds.

Closing out the meet strong, the Sailors took down Godwin Heights 43-18.

Several Sailors won their matches in the victory.

Amari Thomas won at 119 pounds, Anthony Cage at 125 pounds, Gavyn Stout at 145 pounds, Jake Moll at 160 pounds, Kameron McGinley at 171 pounds and Peyton Petersen won at 189 pounds.

Mona Shores will next be home on Saturday for a quad.
