MUSKEGON—A strong offensive second half by Henry Ford College spelled trouble for the Muskegon Community College Jayhawks on Wednesday evening as they fell to the Hawks by a final margin of 100-82.

MCC held a slim 46-44 lead at the halftime break behind the scoring of Isaac Anderson (Northrop) and Kalil Stimage (Muskegon), who each tossed in 13 points. In the first half the Jayhawks were hot from long distance as they connected on 7-of-16, 3-point shots.

The Jayhawks struggled offensively in the second half. They had their last lead (55-54) just a few minutes into the half before Henry Ford took the lead for good and forced MCC to play catch up ball for the remainder of the second half.

Henry Ford had five ballplayers reach double figures led by Brandon Michrina (Stevenson) with 21 points to go along with six rebounds. Michrina went 7-of-9 from long distance.

The Jayhawks were led by Anderson and Stimage who each tossed in a game high 23 points. Also reaching double digits for MCC was Vern Nash (Muskegon) finishing with 10 points. The Jayhawks shot 41.5 percent from the field going 32-for-73. They struggled from beyond the arch in the second half, going 9-of 30 for the game, after a good first half start.

MCC turned the ball 14 times and would grab 38 rebounds, led by Anderson who grabbed 16 boards.

MCC will return to action on Thursday, December 30 when they play host to St. Clair Community College at 7:30pm.
