GRAND RAPIDS–The Ravenna Bulldogs boy’s basketball team lost for the first time this season as they fell to Benzie Central in the finale of the Cornerstone Holiday Tournament in Grand Rapids losing 68-39.

Turnovers were an issue for the Bulldogs as the Huskies took advantage of them scoring 24 points just off lost possessions.

The Bulldogs fell behind early as the Huskies outscored them 20-9 in the first quarter and took a 38-21 lead into the halftime break and that would be the continued theme for the rest of the game.

Leading the way for the Ravenna was Kyle Beebe who scored 14 points, pulled down six rebounds, had three steals and dished out two assists while Travis May added 14 points, two steals, two rebounds and two assists.

Clay Schullo played dominant off the boards leading the team in rebounds with seven.

Ravenna falls to 3-1 and will host North Muskegon on Tuesday January 4 in a Western Michigan Conference showdown.
