It was a rocky start to the season for the Ravenna girl’s basketball team as they fell to visiting Coopersville, 31-20 on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs came out flat, scoring six points by halftime and trailing 18-6. Though the Ravenna defense held the Broncos to just four third-quarter points, it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.

Shooting was a point of weakness for Ravenna as it shot just 12% on the night.

Leading for the Bulldogs was Alexis McMahon with five points, four rebounds and three steals while Emma Gillard and Kara Postema posted four points each.

Ravenna will take the court again for a league matchup at Whitehall on Friday at 7 p.m.
