The Ravenna Bulldogs girls basketball team stepped up their shooting and mounted a second half comeback to top North Muskegon 38-24 on Tuesday at Ravenna.

The Bulldogs trailed the Norses 17-15 coming out of halftime. Ravenna came out of the break prepared to attack the rim on offense and hold down the Norse on defense.

Ravenna used a 23-7 second-half scoring advantage to put it in the driver seat and snatch the win.

Emma Gillard’s double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds and seven steals led the way for Ravenna.

Also leading for the Bulldogs was Madeline Kilbourne with nine points and Kara Postema with six points and three rebounds.

The Norse’ Josse Cooke posted seven points and seven rebounds while Molly Stewart chipped in eight points and grabbed six rebounds.

Ravenna improves to 2-3 on the season and will be at home on Friday for a WMC showdown.

North Muskegon drops to 1-3 and will host WMC foe Montague on Friday.
