The Whitehall boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season on Tuesday with a 63-48 victory over the Fremont Packers.

The Vikings were up by just five points, 20-15, at the end of the first quarter but jumped on a 19-7 second quarter to go into halftime with a 39-22 lead.

Whitehall had to hold the Packers off in the third quarter cutting the Viking lead down to eight points but the Vikings held strong pulling away a bit more to put the game in the bag.

Nate Bolley came through for Whitehall with 21 points, eight rebounds and two steals.

Whitehall was also led by Brodie Fogus with 12 points and 15 rebounds, Red Watson scored 11 points, made four assists, three rebounds and three steals and Kyle Stratton added eight points and three rebounds.

Making a valiant attempt for the Packers, Jordon McDonald racked up 22 points, eight rebounds and three steals while Gavin Richards had 10 rebounds and nine points.

Whitehall improves to 1-2 and will host North Muskegon on Thursday for WMC play.

Fremont drops to 1-2 and will host Central Montcalm Friday in a CSAA Gold matchup.
