MUSKEGON — Riding a big night by Kylan Arnold, the Muskegon Big Reds boys basketball team won its third straight game with a 74-57 in the OK Conference Green Division on Friday night at home over Zeeland West.

The Big Reds, who have played only three games to this point, established early command with a 21-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Zeeland West matched the Big Reds point for point in the second period, with each team scoring 20 points. But, the Big Reds entered the half with a 41-32 lead.

Muskegon finally pulled away, outscoring Zeeland West, 12-8 in the third period and increased its lead to 13 points, 53-40 going into the fourth quarter, during which they had a 21-17 advantage.

Arnold finished the game with 20 points to lead the Big Reds, which included five 3-point baskets made. Merritt Alderink also scored in double figures with 13 points. He also had seven rebounds and two steals. Deklen Klamt chipped in with nine points on three 3-point baskets.

The Big Reds are scheduled to host Benton Harbor in the Big Red Classic on Saturday at 7 p.m.
