ZEELAND — Reeths-Puffer’s girls basketball team didn’t experience any trouble dispatching Zeeland East, starting fast and finishing the deal with a 67-25 victory Tuesday night.

The Rockets sprinted out to a 24-7 lead after the first quarter, and was never seriously threatened after that. They outscored Zeeland East, 17-6 in the second quarter and took a whopping 41-17 lead at the half.

Reeths-Puffer didn’t slow down in the third period, outscoring Zeeland East, 19-8 and headed into the fourth quarter with a 60-21 advantage. Puffer had a 7-4 edge in the final eight minutes.

Four players scored in double figures for the Rockets, led by Arrionna Williams who struck for 19 points. Sophia Hekkema followed her with 15 points, Ariel Walker contributed 14 and Brooklyn Tornes chipped in with 10. Walker knocked down three 3-point baskets, and she had eight rebounds.

The Rockets improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the OK Conference Green, and are next scheduled to host Zeeland West on Friday night, Jan. 14.
