MUSKEGON–Taking the reigns early the Oakridge boys basketball team ran away with their game against Hart on Friday shutting the Pirates down 69-44.
The deficit grew early with the Eagles enjoying a solid 23-9 lead after the first eight minutes of action.
Oakridge went into the halftime break with a commanding 40-24 lead.
The Eagles would outscore Hart 18-11 in the third quarter to carry a 58-35 going into the fourth quarter and never looked back.
Hunter DeLora racked up 22 points for Oakridge while Garrett Wever and Ethan Jozsa tossed in 12 points and 11 points respectively.
Parker Hovey scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Hart while Caleb Bitely chipped in with 10 points. Jake VanderWilk added six points and pulled down five rebounds.
Oakridge is now 4-4 on the season and 2-5 in the West Michigan Conference and will host West Michigan Aviation Academy on Monday.
Hart falls to 5-6 overall and 3-4 in the conference. The Pirates will take on Grand Rapids Covenant Christian at home on Tuesday.
