MONTCALM — Kent City’s girls basketball team dominated from start to finish in cruising past Central-Montcalm, 61-31 in a blowout non-conference win on the road Tuesday night for the Eagles’ 12th straight win without a loss.

The Eagles made short work of the Hornets, racing out to a 21-5 first quarter and going into the halftime break with a 43-13 cushion. Kent City led, 56-26 after three periods.

Lexie Bowers pumped in 23 points for the Eagles. She also added five assists, three steals three rebounds and one block. Maddie Geers scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds, picked off seven steals, dished out five assists and had one block.

Emma Geers added 12 points while Abby Pecynski had two points and eight rebounds.

Maia Sexton was the scoring leader for the Hornets with 10 points.

Kent City is next scheduled to make a trip to Lakeview on Friday, in the Central State Activities Association Silver.
