FRUITPORT–Falling in a close O-K Blue Conference battle with Coopersville on Friday the Fruitport boys basketball team lost 52-45.

Playing tug of war for most of the game the Trojans were locked in a back and forth game that saw both teams tied at 37-37 going into the final eight minutes.

The Trojans began to wear down and make mistakes. Those mistakes would prove to be the difference maker as the Trojans had some critical turnovers and missed free throws in the fourth quarter.  The Trojans went three for six from the line while the Broncos were 15 for 24, and those points added up.

Leading the Trojans offense was Gavin Reames and Ryan Laus who each scored 12 points apiece while Paschal Jolman and Andrew Spyke each added six points.

Fruitport slides to 4-4 while still remaining winless in the conference with a record of 0-3. The Trojans will travel to Holland Christian on Tuesday.
