HAMILTON–Dropping their fifth consecutive O-K Blue Conference game of the season, the Fruitport boys basketball team slowly lost hold of their game against Hamilton on Friday night falling to the Hawkeyes 55-49 on the road.

The Trojans started out with the edge going up 13-9 after the opening quarter of play. The scales began to balance as the game rolled on with the Trojans losing their slight lead to be all tied up 21-21 at the half.

Coming out of the break the Trojans had lost the momentum they opened the game with as Hamilton slowly built a 35-31 lead going into the fourth quarter. It proved to be too much for the Trojans to overcome as they trailed for the rest of the game.

Gavin Reames had a strong scoring performance racking up 16 points on the night. Collin Jolman and Ryan Laus chipped in nine and seven points respectively.

Fruitport drops to 4-6 on the season and remains winless in league action with a record of 0-5. The Trojans will travel to take on West Catholic on Tuesday, January 25.
