The Holton boys basketball team continued on their winning ways as they cruised past Lakeview 49-28 in CSAA-Silver action thanks to a strong scoring effort by Wyatt Monette to improve to 4-0 on the season.

The Red Devils started a bit slow in the opening minutes of the game but still outscored Lakeview 9-5 in the first quarter and held a 22-13 lead going into halftime.

Going into the second half the Devils turned up the heat to pull away even more and put the game out of reach for the Wildcats as they jumped ahead 38-17 after three quarters and didn’t slow down.

We lacked some focus and energy early on but we came out better after the the break,” said Coach Keith Swanson. “We are happy to get an important league win.”

Monette continues a solid season as he posted a double-double racking up 23 points, while grabbing 13 rebounds, and having six blocked shots to go along with six steals. Also chipping in for the Red Devils was Carter Brant who had 10 points, seven assists and made three steals.
