SPRING LAKE–The Spring Lake boys swim and dive team took to the pool on Saturday and for the fourth consecutive time clinched a championship in their home invitational.

It’s been a tough season so far for the Lakers as they’ve been battling injuries along with illness so to get a win shows the team is doing something right.

We worked hard this week on small mechanics that often get overlooked in races, and that paid off well in our competition,” said Coach Zacek. “It continues to be one step at a time for improvements.”

Multiple guys placed for the Lakers and showed time improvements.

Luke Zuelke took 2nd in the 200 Free improving his time by 2.20 seconds while Joe Westhoff placed 2nd in the 100 Breast and had a season best time of 1:06.58. Cayden Walker was 2nd in 11 dives with a score of 368.55 and Witt Miller was 4th in 11 dives scoring 341.90.

Also for the Lakers, Mason Pomeroy took 4th in the 100 Fly setting a season best time of 1:01.44.

Spring Lake will be back to action on Thursday when they visit East Grand Rapids.
