The Muskegon Lumberjacks might have been able to sneak away with a pair of overtime wins over Green Bay last weekend. But going for three OT wins in a row was a stretch.

Muskegon fell to visiting Youngstown 4-3 in overtime on Friday.

The Lumberjacks did a lot of things right but were not able to handle Youngstown’s responses.

Muskegon jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second period off a Jack Williams goal that was assisted by Gavin McCarthy.

But that lead did not hold as Youngstown responded and tied the score 1-1.

In the third period, Muskegon again took the lead. This time off a shorthanded and unassisted Quinn Hutson goal for a 2-1 lead.

But again, Youngstown responded.

Ben Strinden gave Muskegon a 3-2 lead off a Jacob Geuvin assist midway through the period.

Unfortunately for Muskegon, a kneeing penalty gave Youngstown the light it needed to tie the score and force overtime.

In the extra period, the Lumberjacks gave Youngstown the light just three minutes into the period to close the door.
