Thanks to a strong second half push the Muskegon Catholic Central girls basketball team earned a hard fought win topping Black River 45-31 on Tuesday evening.

Both teams battled in the first half with 11 points apiece in the opening two quarters to put the score at 22-22 going into the third quarter.

Coming out from the halftime break the Crusaders found their edge 30-24, taking the first lead of the game. The Crusaders remained in the drivers seat over the fourth quarter to ice the Rats.

Leading the way for the Crusaders, Claire Lavigne put up 11 points while McKenna Gentry and Cara Burkall each chipped in 10 points a piece.

Muskegon Catholic jumps to 3-2 and will play host to Ludington on Friday for a Lakes 8 Activities Conference matchup.
