Snapping a three-game losing streak, the Muskegon Catholic Central girls basketball team made light work of the Hesperia Panthers on Tuesday night with a 36-15 win.

It didn’t take long for the Crusaders to jump out front as they ripped off a whopping 17-2 scoring run in the opening quarter.

Slowing down in the second quarter, the Crusaders only scored one more point than the Panthers to take on a 22-6 lead with one more half left to play.

The Crusaders shut the Panthers down coming out of the break using a 10-0 third quarter to ensure there was no Hesperia comeback.

Contributing on the win for the Crusaders, Sara Albanese led the way putting up 16 points while Carrie Ladd tallied five points.

For the Panthers, Emma Joppich posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Muskegon Catholic moves to 4-5 on the season and is set to travel to Manistee on Friday.

Hesperia slides to 2-7 and remains a winless 0-5 in CSAA Silver action. The Panthers will travel to take on White Cloud on Friday.
