When you’re hot, you’re hot and that’s an understatement with how the Muskegon Lumberjacks are playing this season.

Muskegon again found itself trailing Green Bay on Sunday, but pulled out a 2-1 overtime win. The victory is the Lumberjacks’ 10th straight at home and eighth in-a-row.

Providing the game-winning antics was forward Quinn Hutson who lifted Muskegon in overtime off assists from Tyler Hotson and Noah Ellis.

Muskegon found itself trailing 1-0 after an early Green Bay goal in the first period.

Phillip Tresca stepped in for Muskegon and tied the score midway through the first with assists from Jack Williams and Ellis.

Muskegon was able to shutout Green Bay over the next two periods and OT on a near perfect performance by goaltender Aleksander Kuleshov. The Ufa, Russia native stopped 36 of 37 shots for the win.

The Lumberjacks have been aided by the consistency of Tresca, Hutson and Williams this season.

Hutson is now No. 4 in the USHL for top point getters with 41 points this season. Tresca is not far behind at No. 13 with 35 points and Williams holds the No. 20 spot with 31 points.

The Lumberjacks are now just three points behind first-place Chicago with 43 points on a 20-10-1-2 record.

Muskegon will look to continue its winning ways on Friday and Saturday when its hosts Youngstown at Mercy Health Arena.
