The season struggles continue for the Oakridge girls basketball team as they came up short in a heartbreaking loss to Coopersville on Tuesday evening losing by a score of 39-38.

The Eagles led for nearly the entire game having pushed their lead to 33-26 after three quarters of play but began to falter as time ticked down in the fourth quarter.

Struggling to slow down the Broncos the Eagles began to watch their lead fall away as Coopersville outscored them 13-5 in the final quarter to take the lead and the victory out of Oakridge’s hands.

Leading the way for the Eagle’s was Lily Blackburn with eight points, four steals and three rebounds while Anna Lundquist was electric on the boards pulling down 16 rebounds and adding seven points.

Oakridge falls to 1-5 and is winless at 0-3 in the WMC. The Eagles take the court again when they travel to Whitehall on Thursday.
