NORTH MUSKEGON–The North Muskegon boys basketball team kicked off their weekend snagging another important Western Michigan Conference win on Friday night shutting down the Hart Pirates 51-24.

Jumping out in front early the Norse quickly went on a 7-2 run but Hart battled back thanks to Parker Hovey who scored four points to put the score at 9-6 going into the second quarter.

The Norse turned things up in the second quarter outscoring the Pirates 19-6 and took a half-time 28-12 lead.

North Muskegon continued to add to there lead in the third quarter with a 15-4 scoring advantage over Hart as they found themselves up 43-16 going into the final eight minutes of play.

Both teams would toss in eight fourth quarter points.

Leading the way offensively for the Norse was Troy McManus with 11 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists. Champ Young scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds while James Young chipped in with seven points.

Parker Hovey led Hart with a game high 14 points.

North Muskegon improves to 5-3 on the season and 3-2 in the WMC. The Norse will be back in action on Tuesday when they host the Oakridge Eagles.

Hart drops to 3-3 overall with a record of 1-3 in the WMC and they are set to host Montague on Tuesday.
