Reeths-Puffer withstood a Mona Shores come back in its 49-40 O-K Green boys basketball win on Tuesday.

The host Rockets tapped out the Sailors’ rally that began in the second quarter but was finished off with a 21-10 fourth-quarter run.

The Sailors turned a 16-8 first-quarter deficit into a 30-28 lead at the start of the fourth.

But the Rockets managed with Jaxon Whitaker’s 15 points and Travis Ambrose’s 10 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks. 

Logan Brooks socred 11 points, Clyde Bartee had nine points and five rebounds and point-guard Kyle Schlaff grabbed seven rebounds for the now 6-2 Reeths-Puffer team.

Leading the Sailors was freshman Jordan Bledsoe with 10 points 4 rebounds and two assists. Keontae Richards contributed eight points, four rebounds and three steals. Donovan Russell played tough inside adding six points, six rebounds, four blocks and two assists.

The Sailors are 5-5 overall and 2-2 in the OK Green and the Rockets are now 3-1.
