FRUITPORT–After failing to sink a single basket in the second quarter, the Calvary Christian girls basketball team fell far behind Alliance League foe Potter’s House, losing 38-22 on Tuesday evening.

It was a slow first quarter as the Eagles held just a slight one-point lead with a score of 4-3 after the first eight minutes of action.

The Eagles’ offense dug themselves in a hole by halftime, trailing 17-4.

Fruitport Calvary managed a slim 9-8 scoring deficit in the third quarter and couldn’t dig out in the fourth.

Fruitport Calvary was led by Reagan Payton with 14 points, four rebounds and two steals. Cate Anhalt pulled down seven boards, scored four points and had two steals.

Calvary Christian falls to 12-3 overall and is 6-1 in the Alliance League and will host Battle Creek Calhoun Christian on Thursday.
