KENT CITY—The Kent City Eagles tuned up for their CSAA-Silver Tuesday showdown with Holton by taking care of conference foe Morley-Stanwood 73-45 on Friday evening.

Kent City got off to a quick start jumping out to a 22-14 lead after the first eight minutes of action.

The Eagles held a 14-11 scoring edge in the second stanza, which would carry Kent City into the halftime break with a 36-25 lead.

Kent City put the game away with a huge 24-11 third quarter scoring margin and took a commanding 60-37 lead into the fourth quarter where they held the upper hand 11-8.

Once again we played a much better second half. Our defensive effort got better and we executed on offense,” said Kent City head coach David Ingles. “Big game Tuesday at Holton for first place in the conference.”

Senior Hayden Carlson led Kent City with a team high 21 points. He was joined in double digits by junior Kyler Larson with 17 points and junior Jaret Jaramillo who chipped in with 11 points.

The Eagles improve to 9-4 overall and share first place with Holton in the Central State Activities Association-Silver with records of 6-0. Kent City will travel to Holton to take on the Red Devils on Tuesday evening, February 8.
