MUSKEGON — Reeths Puffer’s girls basketball team had no trouble taking care of business against Zeeland East at home Tuesday night, rolling to a 77-29 victory.

Zeeland East managed to stay with the Rockets in the first half, but then was held to just 10 points total in the second as Puffer pulled away.

Puffer outscored Zeeland East, 19-8 in the first quarter and 14-11 in the second for a 34-19 halftime lead. The Rockets blew Zeeland East out in the third, 31-5 for a huge 65-24 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Sophia Hekkema paced the Rockets with 17 points, while Brooklyn Tomes had 15, Ariel Walker added 14 and Arrionna Williams contributed 13.

Hekkema hauled down eight rebounds and picked off six steals. Tomes had four steals, Walker three and Williams two. Williams and Hekkema each had four assists.

Reeths Puffer improved to 10-4 overall and are tied with Mona Shores in the OK Conference Green with an 8-1 record. Puffer’s next game is scheduled for Friday at Zeeland West.
