FREMONT–In the big games every coach looks for their team to bring their “A” game.

The Fremont boys bowling team certainly did in its final CSAA Conference dual match on Saturday, as the Packers performed at their best against Chippewa Hills and Central Montcalm.

Against the Warriors in the first match, the Packers won their first Baker game by 16 pins and then bowled their best Baker game of the year with a 221 in the second, jumping to a 10-0 lead.

It put the Packers on a roll, and they went on to finish with a 817 regular team game and won the match, 28-2. Aston Yuhasz paced the team with games of 192 and 178.

Next up was Central Montcalm, and the Packers won both Baker games to again take a 10-0 lead.

Fremont continued their fine bowling on the day, rolling a solid 791 team game and then followed that with their highest team game of the year with a 893.

Kaden Johnson rolled his best competitive games of his career, 214 and 206, respectively. Andrew Lyon followed him with a 210 and Gabe VanVleet had a 191.

The girls had a rough day. First, they split their Baker games with Chippewa Hills, losing the first by seven pins and winning the second by a single pin to trail the Warriors, 6-4.

In the team games, the Packers took just two points in each, and ended up losing the match, 22-8. Makayla Johnson led that match with a 128, and Annika Yuhasz added a 117.

Next the Packers faced Central Montcalm, and lost both Baker games to trail, 10-0 heading into the team games, both of which they lost to lose the match, 30-0. Yuhasz led the team with a 109 and Adena Tedford rolled a 106.
