FRUITPORT–The Fruitport girls basketball team did not get the showing they would have hoped for in their last home game of the season on Senior Night. Despite having a solid defensive performance, they fell short and were handed an OK Conference-Blue loss at the hands of Hamilton losing 33-19 on Friday evening.

The Trojans hung in there for most of the game on the defensive front but their lack of production on the offensive end proved to be too much to overcome and dashed any hopes of a comeback.

Leading the way for Fruitport was senior Anna Bol who tossed in six points and pulled down six rebounds in her final home game as a Trojan. Sadie Norwood also chipped in grabbing six rebounds and adding four points.

Regardless of the loss, the night was about recognizing the work and effort of all six of the seniors have put in over their time and career at Fruitport. Stepping on the court for the last time at home was Kylie Pate, Anna Bol, Hailee Benderman, Kylie Rudolph, Sabi Miel and Kayla Manciu.

So proud of you all and thank you for being a part of Fruitport basketball,” said Fruitport head coach Bob German.

Fruitport fell to 1-17 on the season with a 1-11 conference record and will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Grand Rapids West Catholic.
