WYOMING–Bradley Richards exploded for 47 points and 20 rebounds as Fruitport Calvary Christian blew out Wyoming Godfrey Lee 73-51 on Friday evening.

Calvary Christian led 40-26 on the road at halftime. Godfrey Lee cut the lead to 11 late in the third quarter before the Eagles blew the game open for good in the fourth quarter.

Richards was two points short of the Eagles record for most points scored in a single game set by Steven Herbert in 2002. Jacob May scored an additional eight points while assisting eight times. Luke Assaad tallied eight rebounds throughout the game.

Head coach Brad Richards said, “This game was decided at the defensive end with the incredible effort our boys had in stopping their great player Keyotae Taylor, specifically Luke Assaad and Raj Grewel. Then we were able to work the ball for a good shot and tonight was a great win against a very athletic team.”

Taylor had 11 points on the evening after going for 40 points on Tuesday against Holland Black River. Michael Christopher led the Legends with 16 points tonight.

Fruitport Calvary Christian improves to 11-4 and 4-2 in the Alliance League. The Eagles will host Wyoming Potter’s House Christian next Tuesday, February 15 in a pivotal conference clash.
