MONTAGUE–The Montague girls basketball team snapped the Grant Tigers win streak on Tuesday night shutting them down 54-39 in a non-conference battle.
The Wildcats started shaky as the Tigers jumped out to a 15-10 after one quarter of action.
Montague got on track in the second quarter racking up an 18-8 scoring advantage to take a 28-23 halftime lead.
Coming out of the break the Wildcats couldn’t parlay all of their momentum into the third quarter with the Tigers having a one point scoring advantage (10-9) to cut the Montague lead down to 37-33 entering the fourth quarter.
The Wildcats refused to give up the lead and outscored the Tigers 17-6 in the final eight minutes.
“We executed tonight’s game plan exactly how we wanted to,” said Coach Nick Thaler.
“Credit to our girls for having that type of focus. It’s always nice to get a win.”
