ZEELAND–Mona Shores shot 28 percent from the floor and six percent from three point land in their escape over last place Zeeland East in the OK-Green 41-38. The Sailors defense held Zeeland East to 27 percent shooting from the floor.

Zeeland East led after the low scoring first quarter 9-7. Mona Shores battled their way back to take a 17-16 halftime led. Zeeland East poured on the points in the third quarter to take a 33-28 lead before only scoring five points in the fourth quarter and falling 41-38 to the Sailors.

Donovan Russell was the leading scorer for the Sailors with 11 points and added three blocks. Keontae Richards played a well-rounded, impactful game with 10 points, six steals and five assists. Parker Swartz dominated on the glass with nine points and seven rebounds.

Mona Shores improves to .500 in the OK-Green with a record of 5-5 and 8-8 overall. The Sailors will travel to Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday, February 15.
