The Mona Shores girls basketball team continued to build on its strong season with a 59-30 win over the visiting Holland Dutch in O-K Green Conference play on Tuesday.

The Sailors started hot on both sides of the court as they fired off a 20-6 first quarter edge. The action died down into the second quarter, as Mona Shores took a 27-10 lead into the break.

Mona Shores stretched its already large lead even further in the third quarter, taking a 43-22 lead into the final eight minutes.

The Sailor’s win was an all-around team effort with Olivia Sobczak leading the way with 18 points. Also chipping in was Lily Miller who scored 10 points while Jenna Tierman and Khaleeya Cook threw in eight and six points, respectively.

Mona Shores climbs to 16-3 overall with an 11-2 record in the O-K Green and will travel to Wyoming on Friday.
