MONTAGUE–The Montague Wildcats girls basketball team capped off their senior night with a strong 47-24 Western Michigan Conference win over North Muskegon on Tuesday night.

Montague jumped out to a 12-7 lead after the first eight minute of action.

The Wildcat defense shut out the Norse in the second stanza 15-0 to take a commanding 27-7 halftime lead.

North Muskegon held the upper hand in the third quarter 13-11 but still were trailing 38-20 entering the fourth quarter.

Both offenses were a little sluggish in the final eight minutes which saw the Wildcats outscore North Muskegon 9-4.

Emma Dyer led the Wildcat offense scoring 10 points, grabbing five rebounds and making five steals while Kendall Osborne contributed nine points, five assists, five rebounds and five steals. Maddie Meacham chipped in with nine points and pulled down four rebounds. 

Montague climbs to 12-3 overall and 9-1 in the WMC good for second place. The Wildcats will continue league action on Friday when they travel to Shelby to battle with the Tigers.

North Muskegon slumps to 2-13 with a 0-11 record in the WMC and will travel to Hart on Friday evening.
