There’s a show taking over in downtown Muskegon’s Mercy Health Arena.

The Miguel Flores and Muskegon Risers show.

With impressive home fashion again, the Muskegon Risers continued their home win streak with an unflattering 13-2 rout of the Chicago Mustangs on Saturday.

The Muskegon High School grad Flores did what he has done now for the past three home games and that’s score goals and help the Risers win. Flores scored a goal in each quarter for the Risers.

Muskegon continued its winning ways by taking a 5-2 lead in the first quarter.

Led by a pair of TJ Ifaturoti goals, the Risers also found tallies from Flores, Adam Knight and Aldony Mendez.

The second quarter was more Muskegon as Knight opened the net with Flores, Mendez and Colin O’Keefe following behind for a 9-2 lead by halftime.

To make matters better for the Risers, their second half defense improved even more as Chicago was held scoreless in both the third and fourth quarters.

Muskegon added a pair of goals from Flores and Brandon Edwards, taking an 11-2 lead into the final quarter. Flores again led off the scoring in the fourth while Ifaturoti complete his hat trick for Muskegon’s finals goal of the night.

Flores’ goal scoring terror at home started when he scored two goals in the Risers’ win back on January 8. He tallied a hat trick on January 29 and now has 16 total goals this season.

The Risers outshot Chicago 32-19 as Akani Miyambu posted the win in goal.

Muskegon next plays on the road in Cleveland and is back home on February 19.
