KENT CITY — Six different players knocked down a 3-point shot as the No. 2 ranked Kent City girls basketball team closed out the regular season with a 50-24 victory over White Cloud at home Friday night in the Central State Activities Association-Silver.

It was over early, as the Eagles jumped out to a 9-2 lead after one and never looked back. Kent City was in command, 24-5 at the half.

Taryn Preston scored 19 points to lead all scorers in the game for the Eagles, while Lexie Bowers tossed in 14.

White Cloud was led by Carsyn Scatlavai with eight points.

Kent City finished the regular season 19-0 overall and 9-0 in the conference, where the Eagles were the champions. The Eagles are next scheduled to play in the MHSAA Division 3 district at Morley Stanwood on Wednesday night against the Ravenna-White Cloud winner from Monday evening at 7 p.m.
