ITHACA–Hesperia crowned an individual regional champion at the Division 4 tournament in Ithaca on Saturday.

Panthers senior River Roberson defeated Zeke Foster of Sandusky by a pin in 2:22 to bring home the title at 135 pounds. He improved his record to 41-2 on the season.

Meanwhile, junior Alex Sayer made it through to the state finals with a runnerup finish in the 112-pound weight class and improved his record to 37-10.

Also qualifying to move on to Ford Field in Detroit next month was Hesperia sophomore Brandon Quinn with a second place in the 145 weight class. He is now 37-13 on the season.

Ravenna is sending three wrestlers to Detroit for the big dance as senior Zeke Thompson finished third at 160 and moved his record to 44-7, junior Landen Goerbig was fourth at 285 and is now 34-18 and junior Norman Slade made it through with a fourth place finish at 125 and improved his record to 31-15 on the season.
