SPRING LAKE — It was another rough night for the Spring Lake boys basketball team as the Lakers dropped their fourth straight game, losing to Hudsonville Unity Christian, 63-45 at home in the OK Blue Conference.

Hudsonville got off to a hot start, outscoring the Lakers, 24-5 in the second stanza and never looked back, although the Lakers outscored Unity Christian, 40-39 over the other three quarters.

The two teams were tied, 14-14 at the end of the first quarter. Hudsonville opened up a 38-19 lead at the half with that big second period.

Spring Lake had a 13-11 edge in the third quarter, but Hudsonville took the floor for the fourth period holding a 49-32 lead. The Lakers also outscored Hudsonville, 14-13 in the final stanza.

Kaden George paced the Lakers with 15 points and Porter Saunders contributed 11.

The Lakers fell to 7-10 overall and 4-8 in the conference. Spring Lake next takes to the court at home Tuesday, Feb. 22 against Hamilton.
