Spring Lake girls basketball used strong defensive play to top Coopersville, 60-27 in an O-K Blue win on Tuesday night.
The Lakers held Coopersvill to eight points or less in each of the four quarters and forced a whopping 33 Bronco turnovers.
The Lakers jumped out ahead early, accruing a commanding 21-6 lead after the first eight minutes of action and led 39-14 by halftime.
Continuing to pound the basket and play incredibly stifling defense, the Lakers again snapped off a big scoring run in the third quarter as they led 56-21 to start the fourth.
Jennifer Judge led Spring Lake with 16 points four steals while Alexa Carter added 12 points and eight rebounds. Ella Andree knocked in 12 points and snagged five steals.
Also chipping in for the Lakers was Meah Bajt who posted six points with four assists and Nicole Schmitt scored six points and pulled down five rebounds.
Spring Lake climbs to 11-6 on the season and 7-4 in league play. The Lakers are set to host Unity Christian on Friday for Senior Night.
