MUSKEGON — Oakridge boys basketball had a fast start, and a strong finish in getting past Ravenna, 65-41 Tuesday night in a West Michigan Conference win that snapped the Bulldogs’ three-game winning streak while notching its fourth in a row.

The Eagles rattled the Bulldogs with a 20-7 first quarter, and kept the pressure up in the second with a 14-8 advantage to build a 34-15 halftime lead.

Ravenna rallied to outscore the Eagles, 20-14 in the third quarter. But the Eagles still maintained a 13-point lead, 48-35 entering the fourth quarter. The Eagles outscored the Bulldogs, 17-6 in the final period.

Oakridge shot a healthy 48 percent from the floor, making 24 of 50 attempts while the Bulldogs managed just 13 of 47 for 27 percent.

Garrett Wever paced the Eagles in scoring with 25 points on 8 of 16 shooting. Ethan Jozsa knocked down 23 points on 9 of 12 shooting, and Hunter Delora added 13.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Grant Becklin, who put in 15 points, and Kyle Beebe added 10 while Carter Schullo had six.

Oakridge improved its record to 9-8 overall and 5-6 in the conference. The Eagles are next scheduled to see action Friday night at Whitehall.

Ravenna saw its record drop to 10-5 overall and 8-3 in the conference. The Bulldogs are next scheduled to see action Friday night at Mason County Central.
