MUSKEGON — After a shaky first half, Oakridge pulled away in the second for a 59-49 victory over North Muskegon on Friday night at home in the West Michigan Conference, and extended their winning streak to six straight.

Oakridge managed to slide into a four-point lead, 14-10 at the end of the first quarter. But then the Norsemen mounted a comeback, outscoring the Eagles, 15-12 in the second quarter to stay on their heels, trailing only 26-25 at the half.

But the Eagles clamped down on defense in the third quarter, outscoring the Norse, 19-10 to enter the fourth period with a 45-35 lead. Each team scored 14 points in the final eight minutes.

Garrett Wever led the way for the Eagles with 22 points on the night, while Hunter DeLora and Ethan Josza added 15 and 14 points, respectively.

North Muskegon was paced by James Young who contributed 12 points and Sam Gallo who chipped in with 11 points. Jason Bogue also added eight.

Oakridge improves to 11-8 overall and 6-6 in the WMC. The Eagles are next in action on Tuesday at Hart to close out the regular season..

North Muskegon falls to 10-8 overall and 7-6 in the WMC. The Norse are next scheduled to see action at Mason County Central on Tuesday night.
