MUSKEGON–Grand Haven downed Reeths-Puffer in the opening round of district action at Reeths-Puffer on Monday evening 69-57.

The Rockets led 18-17 at the end of the first quarter. Grand Haven put the afterburners on in the second quarter to lead 33-25 at halftime. The Buccaneers never looked back in the second half leading 49-38 at the end of the third quarter.

Grand Haven had three players in double figures with Bashir Neely leading the way with 30 points. Nic Stump and Harrison Sorrelle each finished the night with 12 points.

The Rockets were led by a dominant performance by Jaxon Whitaker with 27 points. Travis Ambrose finished the night with 13 points. Clyde Bartee and Logan Brooks contributed with eight and seven points, respectively.

Grand Haven improves to 18-3 and will play Coopersville on Wednesday at 5:30pm at Muskegon High School.

Reeths-Puffer finishes the season with a 13-8 record and 9-5 record in the OK Green to finish third in the conference.
